Our theralight360 harnesses the power of Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT), a well established means to make use of the healing power of light at precisely calibrated and adjustable wavelengths that penetrate at the cellular level. Specifically, both red and near infrared light is used to activate the mitochondria whereby ATP production is enhanced, providing a significant boost of energy to our cells and ultimately benefitting our entire body.
Targeting activation of mitochondria through specific wavelengths of light enhances the production of ATP, in turn optimising cellular energy, reducing the detrimental effects of oxidative stress and and improving overall well-being.
Red light therapy uses RED and near-infrared light (600-1,100nm). In typical “light bed” applications, these light wavelengths are non-thermal (little to no heat). Applied properly with the correct wavelengths, light specifically targets cells. Stressed cells deprived of oxygen are competing with free radicals to utilize oxygen to produce energy known as ATP (adenosine triphosphate).
Using red and near infrared wavelengths of light resulting in increased circulation and cellular energy production.
Minimising the damaging effects caused by oxidative stress which contributes to acute and chronic pain and accelerates the aging process.
With an increased rate and quality of tissue repair, Red Light improves muscle performance, enhances recovery and reduces pain.
Trusted by athletes and amateurs alike, the TheraLight FIT is designed to benefit anyone committed to taking their personal fitness to the next level.
Red light therapy, also known clinically as “photobiomodulation,” is very different than far-infrared saunas. Saunas use invisible far infrared waves to penetrate the body to activate sweat glands using heat. These waves are extremely warming, unlike Photobiomodulation. Far-infrared applications (such as a sauna) vibrate the water molecules in your body. This vibration weakens the ion bonds until the water breaks down into encapsulated gasses and toxic materials to be excreted. This assists the body’s ability to detoxify.
Light (or photons), hit the cell and are absorbed. This absorption disassociates the free radical (Mitochondrial nitric oxide – mNo) from the cell to allow oxygen to take its rightful place and resume optimal energy production (ATP) in the Electron Transport Chain.

Red light therapy exposes your skin to low-level red or near-infrared light to stimulate cellular function and promote healing from within. It’s most often used for skin health, muscle recovery, inflammation reduction, and performance optimisation. Many people also include it in their regular wellness or recovery routines.
Red light therapy works by delivering specific wavelengths of light that stimulate energy production in your cells, helping them repair and function more efficiently.
Red and near-infrared light penetrate the skin and are absorbed by mitochondria (the “powerhouses” of your cells). This boosts ATP (cellular energy) production, supporting healing, regeneration, and reduced inflammation within the body. Since this is non-invasive and low-heat, it’s safe for regular use on your skin and joints.
Yes, red light therapy is generally considered very safe for most people when used properly.
Red light therapy uses low-level, non-ionising light that doesn’t damage the skin or body tissues. This therapy doesn’t use UV rays to damage the skin; it’s noninvasive, pain-free, and has minimal side effects. However, if you have photosensitivity, are taking light-sensitive medications, or are pregnant, it’s best to consult your doctor before starting treatment.
Red light therapy offers a number of key benefits, including:
Yes, red light therapy may be able to help relieve arthritis symptoms by reducing inflammation and pain in your joints.
Red light therapy works by stimulating cellular repair and reducing oxidative stress within the body, increasing circulation and blood flow to the affected areas. This reduces joint stiffness and improves mobility over time. While it’s not a cure, many studies have shown that it can be an excellent complementary therapy for osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Yes, red light therapy is known to help reduce inflammation in the body.
There are several ways it can do this, including:
There is reason to believe that red light therapy may help improve hyperpigmentation over time by supporting skin repair and reducing inflammation.
While the results may vary, some studies have shown red light therapy to stimulate collagen production and promote cellular turnover, both of which can help even out the skin tone and fade uneven patches.
You may start seeing results from red light therapy within a few sessions, but noticeable improvements usually appear after two to four weeks of consistent use.
The timeline you should expect depends on your goal. Muscle recovery or reduced joint pain may only take one to two weeks to notice a difference, while skin improvements can take upwards of four weeks.
For best results, red light therapy is typically recommended three to five times per week, depending on your goals.
Some people find it easier to start with one or two sessions a week before building up a tolerance for more frequent sessions. If you’re using red light therapy for chronic pain or inflammation, you may be advised to book daily sessions for maximum results.
Yes, red light therapy may support your mental health by improving mood, energy levels, and sleep quality.
While it’s not designed to be a standalone treatment for conditions like depression or anxiety, research suggests that red light therapy can support cognitive clarity, improve sleep and mood, and reduce oxidative stress, which has been linked to mental health disorders.
Red light therapy is generally low-risk, with very few side effects when used correctly. However, there are a few rare risks reported, including:
Red light therapy isn’t recommended for people with photosensitivity disorders or for use over areas with active cancer without medical guidance.
Most clinics recommend avoiding treatment around the stomach area when pregnant as a precaution.
It’s best to consult your healthcare provider before using red light therapy during pregnancy. If you choose to use it, it’s recommended to use targeted or localised red light therapy as much as possible.
