It has a stall force of 27kg. The Elite is the premium at-home option with a stall force of 18kg, while the Theragun Prime is the simplified option with a 13kg stall force.
The Benefits of Percussion Massage
There are so many benefits to percussion therapy; this is just a list of some of the best ones:
Increase blood flow
Percussive therapy uses a unique combination of speed, depth and force to increase blood flow and decrease tension deep within the muscle. Many aspects of health rely quite heavily on healthy circulation. Improved blood flow results in a more efficient oxygen and nutrient delivery throughout the body.
Not only do massage guns increase blood flow in a localised area of the body, but a full body massage with these devices may lead to improved lymphatic circulation throughout the body as well.
Improves range of motion
Percussive therapy enhances the range of motion by creating more flexible joints and reducing the risk of strains and sprains.
A lot of the time, limited mobility is caused by a build-up of fluid in the fascia which surrounds your bones and muscles. Things like injury or even sleeping in a strange position can cause the fluid to build up and tighten up around the muscles. Percussive therapy aids in distributing the fascia fluid, which relieves the tightness in joints.
Faster warmup and recovery
The Theragun aids in helping move lactic acid out of the muscles that you fatigued during exercise, which makes it ideal for workout recovery.
Through the implementation of guided routines, athletes can recover faster, which ultimately benefits their health and provides them with a convenient and effective method to warm up.
Assists in managing pain
We are all familiar with the feeling of enjoying an intense training session only to be sore and stiff the next morning; this is known as Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS).
Both massage therapy and vibration treatments are very useful methods of managing and, in many cases, preventing DOMS.
Research conducted in 2014Â where 45 female subjects were split into three groups: vibration therapy, massage therapy and nothing.
The massage therapy group recovered their strength the fastest, and the vibration therapy group displayed the least pain in the days to follow. Considering that massage guns make use of vibration and massage, percussion therapy is one of the most effective treatments in preventing DOMS.
Improve sleep quality
Regular stress, like occupational stress, can manifest in many different ways. One of the most common and worst reactions our bodies can have to stress is through a cortisol spike. Cortisol is responsible for waking our brains up and is generally released in the morning; when the sun rises, cortisol is what wakes us up.
The opposite is true for melatonin. Melatonin is released as it gets dark and is the reason we feel tired at night. An increase in cortisol levels reduces the body's ability to produce melatonin when we need it so we can feel sleepy at bedtime.
Regular use of a massage gun helps dramatically to reduce stress levels which then in turn significantly benefits the quality and quantity of sleep you receive.
Relieves stress and tension
Massage therapy, in general, is known to lower occupational stress as well as generalised anxiety. These two forms of stress can be very damaging to your sleep, both the quality and quantity of it. The more severe the case of generalised anxiety then the higher sleep onset they will have since their body is permanently kept on edge.

How Does Percussion Therapy Work?
Percussion therapy is a powerful deep muscle treatment used to relieve tension and release soreness in tired muscles after strenuous exercise. This pinpoint muscle treatment involves rapidly striking muscle tissue with a massage gun to improve circulation, which helps with Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) within your body.
Targeting small muscle groups, massage guns deliver intense vibrations to provide targeted pain relief.

FAQs
Are percussion massages healthy?
Given what we know about the benefits of percussion massages when it comes to improved blood flow and increased lymphatic circulation, there is strong evidence to support that regular percussion massages have many health benefits.
Can you damage muscles with Theragun?
It is very important to note that when dealing with injuries like sprains or pulled muscles, the intense, repetitive movement of massage guns can do further damage to your muscles. Normally, injuries like this are quite sore, so you shouldn't feel the need to use your massage gun on your injury.
Does Theragun break up cellulite?
We aren't saying that using the Theragun can remove cellulite but regular targeted percussion therapy can increase blood flow to the site and may help the cellulite to slowly start to reduce as the body redistributes the fat cells that are responsible for cellulite.
How often should you use Theragun?
Therabody recommends you use your Theragun up to three times a day. They say to use it for no less than 15 seconds and no more than 2 minutes per muscle group and that a full body massage shouldn't be longer than 15 minutes.
Is a Theragun good for a pinched nerve?
The Theragun is a very useful device when it comes to pain associated with a pinched nerve. The intense movement makes the relaxation of soft tissue easier by improving blood flow to the targeted area, ultimately reducing inflammation and relaxing the muscles surrounding the pinched nerve.
