After a metabolism boost or need to de-stress?

Using infrared light to raise your internal body temperature will increase your metabolic rate and help eliminate toxins from the body. Combined with contrast therapy, the Afterburn protocol provides an effective fat burn & body refresh.

Why the Afterburn protocol?

The Afterburn Protocol combines infrared sauna and contrast therapy to enhance detoxification and improve metabolic health

Improved detoxification

Sweating is one of the body's primary mechanisms for detoxification. Infrared light is used to heat your body up directly and induce a deep and relaxing sweat, allowing the body to eliminate various toxins, including heavy metals, pollutants, and other harmful substances.

Improved metabolism

The sudden changes in temperature challenges the body to regulate its internal temperature efficiently, requiring additional energy expenditure. This increased metabolic demand promotes calorie burn and enhances metabolic health.

Improved blood flow

The combination of hot and cold exposure across this protocol encourages efficient blood flow throughout the body through the repeated cycles of vasodilation and vasoconstriction.

45 minutes

Stage 1: Infrared sauna

Infrared saunas utilise both near and far infrared light to heat the body, prompting the body to actively cool itself down. The gentle heat of the infrared sauna allows for extended sessions at a lower temperature (55-65 degrees) for 45 minutes, maximising the time spent actively cooling down.
Increased:Blood Flow, Energy, Fat Loss
Decreased:Inflammation, Stress, Toxins
20 minutes

Stage 2: Contrast therapy

Following 45 minutes in the infrared sauna, engage in 20 minutes of contrast therapy. When exposed to the cold pool, cold thermogenesis is activated whereby the body actively attempts to stay warm. Comparatively In the hot pool, blood vessels dilate, enhancing blood flow. By actively switching between the two pools the body is required to re-warm and re-cool itself multiple times, fostering increased energy expenditure, improved metabolism, enhanced blood flow, and reduced inflammation.
Increased:Blood Flow, Energy, Fat Loss
Decreased:Lethargy, Soreness, Stress
