TH7 BodyLabs is dedicated to helping customers with chronic conditions such as CFS or fibromyalgia by providing a range of state of the art equipment and protocols.

Whole-body cryotherapy is one way that we offer pain relief to fibromyalgia sufferers, and it can also help reduce stress and fatigue, as well as give users more energy, focus, and resilience.

The full range of TH7 BodyLabs equipment offers a host of benefits, including improved sleep, quicker recovery times, better mobility, and increased blood flow. Please take a look at our complete list of available protocols for a better idea of how we can help you.

WHAT IS CRYOTHERAPY?

Whole-body cryotherapy is a state-of-the-art treatment that allows our customers to expose their bodies to temperatures of -85℃ for three minutes. By stressing the body hormetically, responses are triggered to compensate for any exposure.

This will help increase immune function, aids in recovery, and increases metabolism.

HOW WILL CRYOTHERAPY HELP FIBROMYALGIA AND CFS?

Whole-body cryotherapy is used to decrease pain, fatigue, and stress. Other positive effects of the treatment include greater resilience, more energy, and improved focus and mental clarity.

IMPROVED BLOOD FLOW

These benefits target many of the negative symptoms associated with fibromyalgia or CFS. Other benefits that are a result of cryotherapy include improved blood flow. This is a result of the vasoconstriction that draws blood to your core and the vasodilation when you exit the cryotherapy chamber, and the blood flows back to your extremities.

REDUCTION IN INFLAMMATION

Regular cryotherapy exposure will reduce systemic inflammation. Multiple exposures also lower the concentration of muscle cell damage markers, and this will help speed up recovery from injury and relieve muscular pain.

IMPROVED SLEEP QUALITY

The improvement that whole body cryotherapy causes to the parasympathetic nervous activity improves sleep quality. Getting a good night’s sleep is vital for recovery and reducing tiredness, and minimising the depressive symptoms associated with sleep disorders.

HOW TO EASE FIBROMYALGIA AND CFS WITH CRYOTHERAPY

Whole-body cryotherapy has been shown to have positive effects on the following symptoms of CFS.

These kinds of improvements are typical of regular WBC users, and results are most common after around 20 treatments.

By triggering thermal stress, the body naturally constricts blood vessels and slows nerve signals. This results in pain relief and an improvement in mental well being and sleep disorders.

Improved mental well-being and sleep and reduced pain are just some of the benefits that CFS sufferers will enjoy from whole-body cryotherapy.

CRYOTHERAPY FOR CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME: WHAT DOES THE RESEARCH SAY?

Studies carried out by the BCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information) looked at the effects of whole-body cryotherapy on 32 male and female chronic fatigue syndrome sufferers between the age of 25 and 65.

A healthy control group was also implemented in the testing with 18 healthy individuals involved.

The test saw the subjects complete ten visits in 12 days, with the time spent in the chamber increasing in increments up to 2.5 minutes.

Following the exposure to cold temperature, the subjects then underwent physical therapy, focusing on static stretching.

The study then measured fatigue, cognitive function, autonomic and cardiovascular function, arterial stiffness, and body composition.

A positive correlation was present in the majority of test subjects that showed significant improvement, indicating the benefits of WBC.

FAQS

CAN ANYONE USE CRYOTHERAPY?

Cryotherapy is a procedure that most people can enjoy. That being said, it can cause a slight increase in systolic blood pressure.

If you suffer from any cardiovascular conditions, you should seek clearance from your GP before taking the treatment.

There are also a number of conditions that mean you should avoid cryotherapy, including cryoglobulinaemia, hypothyroidism, Raynaud’s syndrome, DVT, and acute respiratory tract disease.

If you have any health concerns, get in touch so we can advise accordingly or speak with your GP.

HOW ARE CRYOTHERAPY CHAMBERS COOLED?

The idea of exposing your body to extremely cold temperatures can seem counterintuitive to many. However, cryotherapy chambers are completely safe, and you will not be exposed to freezing liquid nitrogen.

The air in cryotherapy chambers is cooled to -85℃ by either liquid nitrogen or electricity. In the case of liquid nitrogen chambers, the liquid is pumped around a system of pipes in the chamber walls, cooling the air. The cold air is then pumped around the chamber.

This causes the skin to cool and decrease the blood flow, resulting in positive effects that can reduce the painful and uncomfortable symptoms for CFS and fibromyalgia patients.

DOES CRYOTHERAPY HELP WITH COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT?

Cognitive impairment or brain fog is a symptom of CFS and fibromyalgia and can make it difficult to focus, remember things, or make simple decisions. Cryotherapy and contrast therapy are two options available here at TH7 BodyLabs that can improve this.

This is one of the reasons that we advise using our cryotherapy service first thing in the morning. It will help to focus you and get you on track for a good day.

FINAL THOUGHTS
